Saint-Gobain Glass has won The Sunday Times national award for training and motivation of staff on environmental issues and is also to be named as one of UK's greenest companies in The Sunday Times 50 Best Green Companies list.
In particular the company received the national award for its training and motivational programme beating off competition from some of the UK's largest companies and was ranked 8th overall following a comprehensive evaluation of its approach to environmental management, the knowledge of its employees and its environmental performance.
Saint-Gobain Glass UK was short-listed out of approximately 500 companies for activities such as its innovative cullet return scheme; where up to 30% glass is re-used in the glass making process, not to mention its leading developments in energy efficient glass coatings, such as SGG PLANITHERM TOTAL.
